Two vans suffered extensive front end damage after a head-on collision.

WARSAW — Two people were transported for injuries after a head-on collision between two vans occurred just after 4:30 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 16. The accident occurred near 4202 W. Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw.

Cadence Bartz, 17, Atwood, was driving a 2006 gold Dodge Caravan westbound on Crystal Lake Road. Bartz proceeded to pass a vehicle and while returning to the westbound lane Bartz’s vehicle collided head-on with an eastbound red Chrysler Town and Country driven by Nora Rodriguez, 52, Warsaw.

Bartz was transported from the scene with facial injuries and leg pain. A minor passenger in Rodriguez’s vehicle was transported for a laceration to the face. The accident was originally called as four people being injured, but according to the accident report all others involved were treated at the scene.

Both vehicles suffered extensive front end damage with the cost of damages estimated at up to $50,000.

Emergency responders work to clear the accident.
