Warsaw Man Arrested After Injuring Female
WARSAW — A 33-year-old man from Warsaw has been charged with domestic battery causing moderate bodily injury, domestic battery with a child under the age of 16 present, strangulation, all level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
Jesus Contreras-Nieto, 33, 1692 E. 200N, Lot 109, Warsaw, was arrested Monday afternoon, Jan. 15, on charges stemming from a Sept. 22, 2017, incident.
Court documents, filed Sept. 29, report a Kosciusko County sheriff’s deputy responded to a battery complaint Sept. 22. The female victim reported she had been battered by Contreras-Nieto at their residence. She stated they began arguing around 5:30 p.m. that day and he shoved her, used his fist to hit her on the face and threw her on the bed. He also choked her to the point she started to blackout. Three minor children were present in the house and witnessed the assault.
Police were able to observe injuries to the victim’s face, neck and hands and photographed the injuries.
He is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $6,000 surety and cash bond.
