SYRACUSE — Indiana Department of Education released the 2017 state high school graduation rates Friday afternoon, Jan. 12.
According to the information provided by IDOE, Wawasee High School had a 86.27 percent graduation rate in 2017. The non-waiver graduation rate was 77.68 percent.
Kim Nguyen, principal of WHS, noted the 86.27 percent “is a little bit under the 90 percent graduation rate goal of ours.” He said if any information is found to be in question “we will definitely contact the DOE to discuss our data.”
Indiana’s waiver graduation rate was 89.07 percent statewide with a non-waiver graduation rate of 82.36 percent. Since 2006, Indiana has increased its graduation rate by nearly 10 percentage points, IDOE noted.
