Upcoming Events At The North Webster Public Library
NORTH WEBSTER —We rely on our cell phones for so many things nowadays from keeping us informed and in touch with others to helping us find the way to our destinations. Now you can also use your cell phone to stay up to date on programs and events at North Webster Community Public Library by joining the library’s text club. Just text the message “library” to the number 36000 and you will receive the latest information on upcoming library programs, events and announcements. In addition to general library information, patrons can also sign up to receive exclusive announcements from specific departments including adult, genealogy, youth, preschool and Friends of the Library. Patrons can opt out of the text club any time by texting “stop” to the 36000. More details about the library’s Text Club are available at the circulation desk.
James Patterson fans will want to come to Voyager Book Club 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22. The group will be discussing books written by this popular author. In this book club, everyone reads a book of their choice; so bring your favorite James Patterson book to discuss or one you haven’t read before. Next month, Voyager Book Club will read and discuss books either about or written by a U.S. president.
Revolving Recipe Roundup meets 5:30 p.m. the next day, Jan. 23, to share and sample casseroles. Prepare a family favorite or try a new recipe and bring it next Tuesday. Be sure to bring the recipe to trade with others, too. It’s a great way to build your recipe file and try new dishes while enjoying fun and fellowship. Table service and coffee are provided.
Work off those casseroles at the library’s Let’s Move dance exercise class 6 p.m. every Thursday. It’s an informal time of having fun dancing to a variety of music and learning new dance steps with the purpose of getting a good workout. Adults of all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
For the little ones, registration for the winter session of Preschool Story Time begins Wednesday, Jan. 24. Sign up your child, ages three to six, for a fun time of learning through stories, activities and crafts. The 10-week winter session runs every Wednesday starting Feb. 7 through April 11. Parents have a choice of two time periods at 10:30 or 11:30 a.m..
The library has added many new titles to its audio book collection. Stop by and check some out. Listen to one while working out, doing chores, during your workday commute or just relaxing. They are also ideal for those with vision or reading difficulties.
