Joseph Alan ‘Korky’ Koors
Joseph Alan “Korky” Koors of Winona Lake, passed away at 3:23 p.m. when Jesus took him home on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis at the age of 63.
He was born on May 17, 1954 in Warsaw, to Joseph A. Koors and Arleen D. (Dahl) Koors. On July 17, 1976 he was married to Krista (Widaman) Koors, who survives.
Koors was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1972 graduate of Warsaw High School. He also attended Holy Cross College in South Bend. He owned and was a mechanic of Koors Amoco and later Koors Automotive in Warsaw. Over the years he enjoyed snowmobiling, snow skiing and water skiing. But more recently he loved riding the Harley, working in his barn and being with his family. He attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church and will be dearly missed by his friends, family and church family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Krista Koors, Winona Lake; two sons: John Joseph “JJ” and wife Dana Koors, Warsaw; and Jared Alan Koors, Warsaw, Indiana. Also surviving are two grandchildren Gaige A. and Lucas A. Koors; and half-sister Judy, and husband David, Kable, Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, and officiated by Dr. Erik Ohman. He will be buried at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
