Warsaw Man Sentenced For Battering Victim With Children Present
WARSAW — A Warsaw man accused of strangling a woman until she went unconscious was sentenced yesterday, Jan. 9, in Kosciusko Superior Court II.
Logan Scott House, 23, 1570 E. CR 300N, Warsaw, was sentenced on a single charge of domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony.
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department met with a female victim on Sept. 11. She advised that on Sept. 10, she was sleeping inside her residence when House woke her up yelling. The two went downstairs because the victim’s two minor children were asleep upstairs.
When the two arrived downstairs, House grabbed the victim by the throat and choked her. The victim was unable to breath and became unconscious. When the victim woke up, House was dragging her to her feet. House then punched the victim in the face and shoved her to the ground.
Judge Torrey Bauer sentenced House to two years in the Kosciusko County Jail, executing one year and serving any remaining time on probation. House is allowed to serve the sentence on work release or community corrections if he qualifies.
Per the plea agreement and victim statement, additional charges were dropped and the no contact order revoked.
