Jay Alan Teel, 65, Mentone, passed at 1:40 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, after being hospitalized for ten days.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1952, in Warsaw to Edna Marie (Eizinger) and Oliver Clifford Teel.
He got married to Megan (Hermann) Teel, Feb. 8, 1998, in the First Church of God in Rochester; she survives.
He was a lifelong mechanic and was a third generation owner/operator of Teel Orchard. He was a graduate of Vincennes University. He enjoyed working on and rebuilding cars.
He is survived by his wife; daughters: Tricia Sleeth Teel, Mentone; Melody Teel, Pierceton; Chantelle (Matthew) Bose, Fishers; Nellie (Jeff) Stevens, Leesburg; Elizabeth Teel, Mentone; sons: Thomas Teel, Mentone; Samuel Teel, Mentone; ten grandchildren; a sister: Judy Coons, Columbus; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of memorial will be held from 5-6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, at King Memorial Home; the funeral service will follow directly after. A family burial will be held later in Mentone.
