LCA Basketball: Dragons Pull Away From Cougars
ARGOS – Lakeland Christian Academy wasn’t able to find a fifth gear Saturday night, losing 41-33 at Argos in girls basketball.
After scoring just 11 points in the first half, LCA did manage to bump up its production in the third and fourth quarters, but Argos was able to do the same. After just a 16-11 Argos lead at the half, the Dragons led 29-20 after three and did enough to keep LCA at arm’s length in the fourth.
Hope Fancil had the hot hand for LCA, scoring 18 of the team’s points and added five rebounds. The team welcomed back Jess Slone, who had four points and six rebounds, and Tori Calizo added seven points and seven boards.
Morgan Dunlap led Argos with 14 points and the pair of Macee Stryker and Macy Morris each had eight points.
Argos held LCA scoreless for two full periods en route to a 21-9 result.
Argos moves to 8-6 overall with a home date Thursday against Oregon-Davis while LCA drops to 8-7 and will get to visit Cornerstone Christian Tuesday.
