WARSAW — Yesterday, Jan. 5, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department began field testing body cameras for possible implementation.
The Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department had completed testing in the past and found the technology was not advanced enough at the time to implement in their environment. The Sheriff’s Department is now looking at a stepped implementation over the next few years to put body cameras in place.
The department is currently testing the Axon Body Camera System, and the Digital Ally Body Camera System to complement our in car video systems. The sheriff’s department is hoping to have the testing completed this month with a possibility of implementation of the first cameras sometime in May 2018.
