James M. Black — UPDATED
James M. “Jim” Black, 73, Wabash, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Marion General Hospital.
He was born in Wabash on March 31, 1944, to the late Harold and Hazel Black.
He served in the United States Navy. He married Patricia P. Pattee on Jan. 28, 1975. He retired from Ford Meter Box after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15, Wabash VFW Post 286 and Am Vets of Marion, Indiana.
Along with his wife, Black is survived by sons: Donald J. Pattee and James Michael Black, Jr., both of Wabash; daughter, Rhonda Sue (Mark) Hensley, Wabash; brothers: Craig Black, Valparaiso; and David Black, Alandale, Mich.; sister, Janet (Dave) Sparling, Wabash; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, at Friends Cemetery with Pastor David Phillips officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Avenue, Wabash, IN 46992.
