Indiana Could Get More Baby Boxes Thanks To Introduced Bill
INDIANAPOLIS — Wednesday, Jan. 3, a new bill is being introduced at the Indiana Statehouse that could bring more baby boxes to the state.
Senator Travis Holdman plans to show how the boxes are being used right now. Then he will introduce his bill, which calls for voluntary use of baby boxes at fire departments staffed 24/7.
Just two months ago a baby was placed in a baby box in La Porte County — one of only two in the entire state.
That baby was found safe by firefighters and has since been adopted.
