Warsaw Wrestling: Hueber Leads Way In Invite
MISHAWAKA – The Warsaw wrestling team had several strong showings Friday during day one of the Al Smith Invitational.
The Tigers though did not have any individuals advance to the placement round of the annual tourney hosted by Mishawaka High School.
Sophomore Brock Hueber led the way for Warsaw. The sophomore 195-pounder posted a 3-2 mark on the day. Humber notched a pair of wins by pins in the consolation round before losing a tough 5-3 overtime decision in the final round of the day.
Junior Jose Grimmett went 2-2 for the Tigers with consolation round wins at 145 pounds.
The Tigers also had wins from Dillon Estepp, Grayson Drudge, Andrew Owens, Austin Brown, Chris McAfoose and Isaiah Owens on the day. Each of them were 1-2.
The 32-team tournament concludes on Saturday.
Warsaw returns to action at the West Noble Super Duals on Jan. 6.
