J. Bruce Bricker
J. Bruce Bricker passed away at 2:29 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, in Fort Wayne at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. He was surrounded by love from his family at the time of his passing.
Bruce was born on March 21, 1942, in Greenville, Ill. to James Bricker and Dixie (Harper) Bricker. The family moved often with his father’s job and Bruce graduated from high school in Crawfordsville.
Shortly after graduating, Bruce moved to Warsaw and took a job with R.R. Donnelley and Sons. His job turned into a career to which he would dedicate more than 40 years, retiring as a Quality Analyst.
Bruce was married to Debbie Dye Aug. 22, 1975, in Nashville, Tenn. Together the two shared more than 42 years before his passing.
Bruce loved to cook and enjoyed golfing, both of which he was quite good at. He liked spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was a huge fan of IU Basketball and enjoyed music from the Oak Ridge Boys. Most of all he was a low-key, casual guy who enjoyed time with friends and family.
Those who survive Bruce with memories to treasure include his wife: Debbie Bricker, Tippecanoe Lake; three children: Laurie (Kevin) Vachon, Fort Wayne; Beau Bricker, Noblesville; and Trudi Williams, Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in passing are his parents and brother, Raymond Bricker.
The family will visit with friends from noon-1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 29, in Titus Funeral Home. Bruce’s family will celebrate his life privately in a service officiated by friend, Malcolm “Mack” Moore with burial in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
