Warsaw Man Arrested After Strangling Female
WARSAW — A Warsaw man has been arrested after strangling a female twice during an argument.
Jonathon William Goodman, 27, 1502 Dot St. B, Warsaw, is being charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 9, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic battery call at Goodman’s apartment. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the female victim advised she and Goodman had been arguing. During the argument, Goodman grabbed her by the throat, making it hard to breathe, then let go. The argument continued into the bathroom where Goodman choked the female again. According to the female, Goodman then left the apartment and she was able to call the police.
The officer was able to locate and speak with Goodman. Goodman advised the female came home drunk and started a fight. Goodman told the officer that the female hit him and left marks on his arms. The officer was unable to observe any marks on Goodman.
Goodman was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 9, with a $11,250 surety and cash bond.
