Edgewood Donates 17,000 Items Of Food
WARSAW — Edgewood Middle School took Warsaw by storm as it collected a record high 17,000 food items during its 15th annual food drive from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15.
The Tigers managed to collect over $26,000 in food goods from Owens as well as an additional $1,000 in cash. Edgewood donated 70 family boxes to families in the Warsaw School District — 58 attending Edgewood, 10 at Claypool and two at Gateway. The boxes contained food supplies including pastas, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, ramen, beef and milk and home essentials such as toiletries and laundry detergent. Meijer donated all of the perishable materials for the family boxes.
Once the family boxes were packed and distributed, Edgewood donated the remaining supplies evenly to Our Father’s House and Combined Community Services.
