Valley Basketball: Balanced Vikings Keep Cavs Winless
CULVER — Tippecanoe Valley’s boys basketball team knocked down eight 3-pointers, and five different Vikings scored in double figures as the team earned its second win of the season with a 72-56 victory on the road at Culver Community Tuesday.
Alex Morrison scored on 9 of 16 shots from the floor on his way to a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Tanner Trippiedi sank 4 of 9 3-pointers on his way to 17 points to go with five steals, Parkur Dalrymple scored 12, and Cam Parker and Jace Potter put up 10 points apiece on combined 10-of-13 shooting in a balanced performance by the visitors.
The Vikings’ depth beat Culver’s one-two as Ethan Shuman put up 23 points, and Kia Riale scored 19 for the Cavs.
Valley scored 17 points off 22 Culver turnovers while surrendering just 10 turnovers of its own, and the Vikings out-rebounded their hosts 29-21 in the win.
Valley moves to 2-5 and will play host to LaVille Friday at 7:30 p.m. Culver stays winless at 0-8.
