Boys Basketball
Monday night, the freshman basketball team from Wawasee stacked up a 43-34 win at Elkhart Memorial.
Kameron Salazar had a big night, leading the Warriors with 15 points. Justin Castro was just behind with 13 points while Ethan Carey added nine points in the win.
Wawasee moves to 6-2 overall and will take a break until Jan. 4 when it visits East Noble.
Girls Basketball
A close battle Monday had Wawasee outlast Warsaw, 22-19, in freshman girls buckets at Wawasee.
Autumn Turner led Wawasee with seven points while Abby Steiner ended with four points.
Lindsey Bradley paced Warsaw with seven points and Aubrey Hepler was just behind with six points.
Wawasee heads into winter break at 4-1 overall, its next contest Jan. 6 at NorthWood.
