MILFORD — A Milford man was arrested on a warrant after he bit a minor child on her cheek.
Christopher Paul Martin, 44, 409 W. Catherine St., Milford, is being charged with domestic battery to a person less than 14 years of age, a level 6 felony, and invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
On Nov. 19, a parent approached a Milford police officer in regards to a minor child being bitten on the cheek by Martin. The mother has legal custody of the child and a no contact order in place with Martin.
The officer conducted an interview with the child while a parent was present. The child told the officer that she was home with Martin on Nov. 16. According to the child, Martin was drunk and arguing with the child when he used a cigarette lighter to set someone’s hair on fire. That person’s identity was redacted from public documents.
The minor then told Martin not to do that and to go to bed. The minor stated that Martin then approached her and bit her on the cheek, causing pain. The child was told not to go to school the next day because the red marks were still visible.
Martin was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 14, with a $26,000 surety and cash bond.
