Fort Wayne Man Arrested For Breaking Into Local Residence, Strangling Homeowner, Stealing Items
KOSCIUSKO — A Fort Wayne man was arrested after he broke into a Kosciusko County residence, strangled the homeowner and stole multiple items.
Douglas Allen Quinn, 42, 4345 Dicke Road, Fort Wayne, is being charged with burglary, a level 6 felony, and theft, a class A misdemeanor. A no contact order with the homeowner was also issued during the time of his arrest.
On Nov. 26, an officer with the Kosciusko County Police Department responded to an unwanted male subject in a residence. When the officer arrived he spoke with the homeowner. She advised Quinn made entry into her residence without her consent, strangled her and stole her driver’s license, military identification, credit cards, check book, social security card, birth certificate and several keys.
According to the victim, she woke up with Quinn’s elbow across her chest/throat area. When the victim asked Quinn what he was doing he replied, “Trying to suffocate you.” Quinn then stole the items listed above and left the residence. The victim told the officer that she hired Quinn to do a job for her in April and on several occasions since then has had problems with him.
Quinn was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 16, with a $30,250 surety and cash bond.
