Owens Host Christmas Party For Retired Tigers Residents
WARSAW — Owens continued to touch the hearts of the Warsaw community this holiday season. While the Edgewood Middle School wrapped up its food drive at Owens, Manager Kris Johnson and a handful of staff members took Christmas to seniors at Retired Tigers Saturday morning, Dec. 16.
“We have a lot of people who come to Owens that feel like a family,” stated Johnson, “and we want to take care of our community.”
The staff hosted a party for the seniors in a community space at Retired Tigers. Seniors enjoyed a day of activities with special guest Santa. Residents spent the morning into early afternoon eating, playing games and enjoying the company for the holidays. As the event wrapped up, attendees were able to take a picture with Santa and given a gift bag containing a blanket, candy, a puzzle book and dental hygiene supplies.
“[We] just wanted to come and give them a good Christmas. We just come in and give them gift bags, give them food and give them Santa,” explained Johnson.
