Valley Swimming: Vikings Take Two At Manchester
NORTH MANCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley used at least a half dozen wins on both sides of the event sheet Wednesday to dispatch Manchester in boys and girls swim duals. Valley had no trouble in the boys dual, winning 112-51, while the girls were able to slip past the Lady Squires 84-76.
Five different girls posted a win to help the cause for Valley. Madye Fear started things off with a 2:30.28 win in the 200 freestyle. Olivia Livengood won the fly at 1:13.51, Jerzey Conley topped the backstroke at 1:26.79, Haley Baker outlasted the breaststroke at 1:34.69 and the Vikings capped the day with a 4:36.27 winner in the 400 free relay.
Valley stole key points in diving, where Tiphanie Hodge was the lone diver and claimed top billing with her 147.85.
Halle Briner had a huge night for Manchester, winning the 50 free at 25.29, the 500 free at 5:28.23 and helped the medley and 200 free relays to wins.
Chase Brower had a double in two non-normal events for the speedy Valley senior. Brower took the individual medley at 2:20.75 and the backstroke at 1:00.73 and helped the medley relay to a 1:58.83 winner and 400 free relay to a 4:13.13 conclusion.
Jacob Wagner won the 200 at 2:13.33, Camden Tucker the fly at 1:12.25, Dakota Prater the 100 free at 58.42, and Zach Hodge diving at 156.45.
Valley is now off until Jan. 3 when it will join Rochester and Huntington North at Warsaw for a quad.
