Burket Man Arrested For Child Solicitation
BURKET — A Burket man was recently arrested after a female between the ages of 14 and 16 told police he made sexual advances with her.
Curtis Brandt Deturk, 24, 119 N. Walnut St., Burket, is being charged with child solicitation by a person over 21 with someone between 14 and 16 years old, a level 5 felony.
On Nov. 25, an officer with the Kosciusko County jail spoke with a female who advised a minor female had stayed at Deturk’s Burket residence and was fondled by him.
An employee of Kosciusko County Child Protective Services spoke with the victim. She advised Deturk and she went on a walk. During the walk, Deturk asked to grab her butt and she denied several times. Deturk continued to say inappropriate, sexual things until the two finished the walk.
Later at the residence, Deturk hugged and grabbed the victim’s butt. According to the victim, he then took a shower and walked up behind her completely naked, making inappropriate gestures and comments. Numerous times during the night, Deturk wanted to know if the minor victim would “sleep” with him.
The officer then spoke with Deturk who confirmed going on a walk with the victim. He stated he didn’t remember anything beyond that but admitted to sending a text message to the female apologizing for his actions. He said he apologized because everyone was telling him he did those things.
Deturk was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 12, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
