UPDATE — Warsaw Driver Dies In SR 15 School Bus, Car Accident
KOSCIUSKO — Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a motor vehicle traffic crash on SR 15 at Clearwater Drive in Warsaw. One male subject sustained fatal injuries in the two vehicle collision.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded yesterday evening at 4:09 p.m. to a reported school bus crash which involved a passenger vehicle. The crash was between a south bound 2012 Freightliner School Bus and a south bound 2002 Dodge Neon.
The operator of the Warsaw Community School Bus was stopped in traffic to make a turn onto Clearwater Drive, and the south bound Dodge rear ended the bus. A male occupant was found unresponsively pinned in the 2002 Dodge Neon, and was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne for treatment of his injuries. The operator of the 2012 Freightliner School Bus was not injured in the crash and the 32 students being transported on the bus did not report injuries at the scene.
The operator of the Dodge Neon was identified as Michael S. Goble, 25, Warsaw. Goble was later pronounced dead at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne from injuries sustained in this crash.
Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, Leesburg Fire Department, Warsaw Police Department, the Indiana State Police and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
