Triton Wrestling: Trojans Down Westview
BOURBON — Triton’s wrestling team handed Westview a sound, 60-18 defeat at home in Bourbon Thursday night.
The Trojans benefitted from five forfeits — including three straight between 170 and 195 pounds — and won four matches by fall on the way to the lopsided result. Alejandro Cabrera pinned Westview’s Chandler Pushem at 138 pounds to get his team off to a strong start, Riley Chickering staked his team to a 12-0 lead with his pinfall of Westview’s Kyle Fennell at 145, Sheldon Rolston recorded a pinfall win over Austin Drew at 220, and Nate Riggins put an exclamation mark on the meet with his pinfall of Douglas Cavillo at 132.
Triton heavyweight Billy Smith clinched a narrow 3-2 decision over Nate Brown, and Connor Pitney notched an even narrower 7-5 win over Joey Mullett in sudden victory.
The Trojans get back at it Saturday at the Clinton Central Invite, starting at 9 a.m.
