Luella Powell
Luella Powell, 80, Plymouth, passed away on Nov. 27, 2017 in the IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Luella was born on March 29, 1937 in Starke County to Arthur and Helen (Hazen) Hundt. Luella worked for Universal Bearing in Bremen in the final inspection department. She has been a resident of Marshall County most her life. Luella will fondly be remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Luella was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Left to cherish Luella’s memory are her daughter, Debbie Noyer of Plymouth; her two sons, Tom Collins of Plymouth, and Randy Heckaman of Plymouth; Luella was blessed with 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; also surviving are her six sisters, Tenna (Mike) Walenga of Bremen, Patti (Ray) Igelski of Warsaw, Barbara (Steve) Harrington of Bremen, Lila (Bill) Harmon of Tippecanoe, Carolyn (Dave) Colburn of Newark, Ohio and Judy Lohagen of Florida; four brothers, Frank (Robin) Hundt of Florida, George (Sue) Hundt of North Carolina, Richard (Loretta) Hundt of Plymouth, and Paul (Chris) Hundt of Plymouth; many nieces and nephews; Luella is preceded in passing by her parents, three sons, Steven Collins, Jim Collins, and William “Bill” Collins, her daughter, Kathy Collins; three sisters, Delores Ogle, Beverly Ogle and Kathy Garza; 3 brothers, Junior Hundt, Bob Hundt and Bill Hundt.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Powell family and wish to extend our deepest heartfelt condolences. A funeral for Luella will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563 with Pastor Nathan Hundt officiating. Burial will follow the service in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
A time of visiting with the Powell family will be on Friday, Dec. 1, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Powell family requests memorial contribution be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
