Dorothy Slabaugh
Dorothy Slabaugh, 55, Nappanee, died at 5:10 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa after an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 18, 1962 in Bremen to Elmer A. and Rosa (Borkholder) Slabaugh. Dorothy was a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by her mother, Rosa Slabaugh, Bremen; brothers, Delbert (Ruby) Slabaugh, Shipshewana, Amos (Amanda) Slabaugh, New Paris, Dennis (AnnaFern) Slabaugh, Bourbon, Nelson (Sharon) Slabaugh and Ernest (Marlene) Slabaugh, both of Milford, Jerry (Irene) Slabaugh, Cadwell, Ill., Daniel Slabaugh, New Paris; sisters, Sylvia Slabaugh, Bremen, RoseMary (Leon W.) Miller, Shipshewana, Anna (Perry G.) Miller, Arthur, Ill., Sarah (Marlin) Helmuth, Bremen, and Ruth (Danny Jr.) Miller, Arcola, Ill.; sister-in-law, Kathryn Slabaugh, New Paris; 38 nephews; 42 nieces; and 49 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer A. Slabaugh; brother, Devon Slabaugh; and a nephew Daniel Miller.
Family and friends may call after 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30 and all day Friday, Dec. 1 at James Schwartz Residence (30580 C.R. 56, Nappanee). Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, also at James Schwartz Residence. Bishops, Lonnie Kauffman and Eli Lehman and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Weldy Cemetery.
