Girls Basketball
Wawasee earned its first freshman hoops win of the season Monday, taking out West Noble 27-22 in Ligonier.
Autumn Turner scored five of her nine points in a pivotal third quarter for Wawasee, where the Lady Warriors broke a halftime tie into a 18-14 lead heading into the final quarter. Tate Cowan scored five of her nine points in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory.
Wawasee (1-1) plays next at Westview on Dec. 2.
Boys Basketball
Four Wawasee players netted at least six points in a 40-14 romp over West Noble in boys frosh hoops Monday evening in Ligonier.
Gavin Wilson led the Wawasee charge with 10 points, with Ethan Carey and Adam Beer both finishing with seven points and Kameron Salazar totaling six points.
Wawasee (2-0) takes on Central Noble Wednesday night.
