Warsaw Basketball: Frosh Win Opener
AKRON – A fast start carried the Warsaw freshman boys basketball team to a win in its season opener Monday night.
The frosh Tigers raced to a 17-3 lead after the opening period en route to topping host Tippecanoe Valley by a 59-18 final.
Bishop Walters led a balanced offense with 13 points as nine players scored for the Tigers in the win.
Mason Martz had nine points and Luke Adamiec and Drew McCleary each finished with eight. The duo of Brock Poe and Ben Bergen each had six points and Landon Stanger scored five.
Warsaw won the B game 20-0 as Jacob Hawn led the way with eight points.
Warsaw (1-0) hosts Carroll on Wednesday night.
