Claypool Kindergarten Focuses On Healthy Habits
WARSAW — Claypool kindergarteners have been focusing on nutrition and healthy eating throughout the month of November. Claypool Elementary students are reading books, engaging in literacy and math activities and even having a tasting party of healthy fruits and vegetables provided by the Warsaw Nutrition Services.
Throughout the month, Claypool staff has not only been promoting healthy eating in the classroom, but extending the initiative out to Claypool families as well. Claypool kindergarten families were invited to participate in the “healthy eating challenge.”
Another exciting development for Claypool Elementary is the installation of a water bottle filter and purifying system. Students are very excited to have a place to fill up their water bottles, and love seeing the numbers change as it shows the amount of water bottles saved. Building on this excitement, staff will encourage kindergarten classes to bring in water bottles to fill up as a class each morning. Having the water available throughout the day will keep students hydrated and provide an opportunity to drink water when they are thirsty. Claypool staff are excited to see the possible growth in engagement and healthy habits that can result from focusing on nutrition within the school and family unit.
