Two Fatalities In Marshall County During The Holiday Weekend
MARSHALL COUNTY — A man from Texas and another from Elkhart lost their lives in two separate accidents during the holiday weekend in Marshall County.
Michael Lynn Andrus, Anson, Texas, died Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident at US 6 and Elm Road, Bremen. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported it is believed Andrus suffered a medical event prior to the 4:35 p.m. accident. Authorities reported Andrus was traveling west on US 6 in a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 when it is believed he suffered a medical event. The vehicle went off the road and hit a small tree. He received medical treatment at the scene, however, he was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the scene. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Bremen Police, Fire and EMS departments and Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
Walter Lee Conner, 63, Elkhart, died Friday from injuries in a single-vehicle accident on US 6, east of Jarrah Road, Bremen. The accident was at 9:01 a.m. Conner was traveling west on US 6 in a 1999 Dodge van when for an unknown reason went across the eastbound lane, off the south side of the road, hitting a fence and mailbox. The vehicle continued into a 10-foot ditch. Authorities reported Conner succumbed at the scene due to his injuries. The accident is still under investigation. Assisting at the scene was the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, Union North Ambulance Service, LaPaz Fire Department and Bremen Police Department.
