Sixth Annual Executive Forum
Dear Editor,
I would like to thank the Grace College School of Business, the Gordon Institute for Enterprise Development and the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce for recently partnering to host the Sixth Annual Executive Forum at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center on the Grace College campus. This year’s theme of “Giving Back to the Community” spoke to my heart as I considered the various ways our schools – students and staff – are continually giving back to the community in an effort to meet the needs of individuals and make Tippecanoe Valley a better place to live.
During the panel discussion it was stated that one of the two biggest needs in our community is the need for quality early childhood care and quality preschool experiences for children. I am thankful the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation and our community have stepped up to meet this need. Mentone Elementary School is the site of the Mentone Kindergarten Readiness Center where every day school is in session, two classrooms of children 3-5 years of age, receive a high quality preschool learning experience under the guidance of a certified teacher. Mentone Elementary School also hosts the Little Vikings Developmental Preschool and a Head Start Classroom. The Kosciusko County YMCA partners with Mentone Elementary School to provide much-needed before and after school childcare. Akron Elementary School is the host site of the Beaver Dam Preschool, a community preschool that provides a valuable service to a large number of young children and families in the community. Wee Care Day Care of Akron provides important before and after school care for school age children, in addition to its daytime childcare services. The Burket Educational Center is the host site of the Jack & Jill Preschool, another community preschool that serves young children and families of the community.
Tippecanoe Valley’s vision is to do whatever it takes to equip all students to be outstanding – today, tomorrow, and beyond. By stepping up and partnering with others in our community, our schools are equipping Tippecanoe Valley students to be outstanding while meeting a significant need in our community.
Sincerely,
Brett R. Boggs
Superintendent
