Valley Girls Basketball: Lady Vikings Prevail Over Logansport
AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley outscored visiting Logansport 27-18 in the second half to push its unbeaten start out to three games with a 47-41 win over the visiting Berries Tuesday night.
With usual high-scorer Sophie Bussard not in the lineup, Emily Peterson put up 14 points to lead the Lady Vikings (3-0) in the scoring column, while Olivia Trippiedi put up 11 points with four steals for Valley, which bumped up to third place in the ICGSA Class 3A rankings, tied with Fort Wayne Concordia. Jillian Walls scored eight, and Asia O’Connor finished with seven points and eight rebounds.
Stats for Logansport (1-2) were not available for the game.
In Tuesday’s JV contest, meanwhile, the home team claimed a lopsided 50-19 win over its Logan counterparts.
Emma Craig scored 12 points to pace Valley’s JV, while Sidney Wagner and Jillian Walls each scored 10. Craig also notched four steals and an assist, while Haley Backus pulled down nine rebounds.
Valley will play host to Warsaw Friday at 7:45 p.m.
