James Richard Zehner
James Richard Zehner, 85, Monterey, passed away on Nov. 11, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.
Jim was born on May 8, 1932 in Pulaski County to August and Anna (Shorter) Zehner. He attended St. Anne Catholic School and then
Monterey High School, graduating from there in 1950.
After graduation, Jim went to work at Bendix Corp. in South Bend. He married Delores Loretta Shideler in 1952.
Jim is survived by his wife Delores of Monterey; son Richard (Vicki) Zehner of Monterey; daughters Bonnie (Tom) Young of
Decatur, Ala.; Mary (Bob) Kornock of Lancaster, Calif.; Robin (Bob) Harden of Wabash; brother Don (Ruth) Zehner of Monterey;
and sister Mary (Joe) Penska of Winamac; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Debra and Sharon, son Eric, a brother, and a sister.
A time of visitation with the family will be held at the Odom Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 2-8 p.m. with a
Spiritual Wake at 7:30 followed by the Rosary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 20 at St. Anne
Catholic Church, Monterey, at 11:00 am with Father Michael McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Anne Catholic Church or the Monterey Fire Dept. in Jim’s memory.
