Bertha Catherine Goetz, 96, Goshen, died 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born July 12, 1921, in Elkhart to Henry J. & Sarah C. (Wenger) Burkholder. She married Virgil Roy Goetz on Nov. 1, 1946, and he died Jan. 16, 1985.
Surviving are children, Dale Goetz, Goshen, Ronald (Patricia) Goetz, Goshen, Joanne (Bruce) Sharick, Green Bay, Wisconsin, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Brosius, Goshen, Lisa (Anthony) Frecker, Goshen, Matthew (Tyler) Sharick, Green Bay, Wisconsin, Adam Sharick, Green Bay, Wisconsin, Erin (Jonathan) Welch, Washington DC, two great-grandchildren, Jarrett & Reed Frecker, sister, Mildred Yoder, Goshen and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kehr, Goshen.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Virgil, brothers, Lowell & Clayton Burkholder and sisters, Ruth Yoder & Esther Hoover.
Bertha was a homemaker who loved to crochet, sew, garden and cook. She was a member of the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service, Monday, Nov. 13, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 CR 11, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate and burial will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
