Wawasee Basketball: Lady Warriors Rebound For Win
SYRACUSE – After a tough second half Thursday in a loss to Marian, Wawasee turned it around with a big 47-24 girls basketball win Saturday night against Prairie Heights.
Wawasee did a number on Heights in the second half, holding the Panthers to just four points – and none in the fourth quarter. The Lady Warriors led by just five points, 25-20, entering the second half, but used an 11-4 third quarter then ended the game on a 11-0 run in the final quarter to shore up the win.
Aubrey Kuhn paced Wawasee (1-1) with 14 points and six rebounds while Hannah-Marie Lamle was right there with 13 points and eight boards. Hannah Lancaster added eight points in the win.
Lexi German led the Panthers with 14 points, but only had two in the second half.
Maddie Mottern had a huge game for the Wawasee JV, posting 15 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in a 32-28 win over Central Noble in the night’s opener. Morgan Adkins added five points in the victory.
Wawasee will hit the road for the first time this season, visiting Fairfield Tuesday night.
