Fuller Sworn In To Replace Shuter On Traffic Safety Commission Board
WARSAW — Warsaw Police Sergeant Lewis Fuller was sworn in by Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer at a brief Warsaw Traffic Safety Commission meeting held Wednesday, Nov. 1.
Fuller will replace Kip Shuter as the second representative of the Warsaw Police Department on the City of Warsaw Traffic Safety Commission.
New Traffic Commission Administrator Steve Foster brought up the topic of improvements to the city municipal parking lot in downtown Warsaw, which is the lot next to Expressions Salon and Spa.
“We had some inquiry, which I believe came through Councilman Jeff Grose, about some signage and the use of the municipal parking lot downtown,” said Foster.
Foster stated that some of members of the WTSC board got together and went through numbers and drawings.
“The bottom line is that after reviewing the current use of the parking lot and what was going on there, I’m happy to say that we’re doing a good job,” said Foster, “As a result of that inquiry we have new striping and signs.”
Warsaw City Planner Jeremy Skinner informed board members that he received an email from a resident who has concerns about the speed limit in Timber Ridge Subdivision, Warsaw. Skinner said the resident requested that the speed limit be reduced in the residential neighborhood. The current speed limit is 25.
Warsaw Police Captain Joel Beam said he has not received any complaints and was unaware that there was an issue.
It was suggested that patrol could be increased in that area to determine if there is actually an issue with the speed limit or if one or two individuals are simply not observing the speed limit.
