Ronald K. ‘Red’ Pearson
Ronald K. “Red” Pearson, 79, Leesburg, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on October 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born Oct. 24, 1938 in Warsaw to Jasper L. and Mary Audeline (Staples) Pearson.
He was a lifetime Leesburg and North Webster area resident, graduated in 1956 from North Webster High School, and attended Ivy Tech in Warsaw. He was married on July 29, 1960 in Mission, Kan. to Ione M. “Liz” Baston who survives. He retired from the United States Marine Corps an
d served in Vietnam. He was formerly employed at Venture Engineering in Syracuse and Lyall Electric in North Webster.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 1342 in Syracuse which he was former Vice Commander, volunteer for Meals on Wheels in North Webster, and former member of the Forty & Eight Club in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife, Liz Pearson, Leesburg; three daughters: Tammy S. Northrup, North Webster; Debbie A. Pearson, Nappanee; and Kathryn M. Pearson, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, two sisters – Faye Gross and Lavonne “Vonnie” Wiggs, and two brothers – John & Jim Pearson.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500 N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the funeral home with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the North Webster United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15 Warsaw.Military rites will follow the services at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be held at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery at a later date.
