AWS Foundation Grants $25,000 To Joe’s Kids
WARSAW — AWS Foundation in Fort Wayne recently granted $25,000 to Joe’s Kids to help provide much needed pediatric therapy services to children with special needs in and around Kosciusko County.
Joe’s Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pediatric rehab clinic proving physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to children with special needs or developmental delays. The clinic was founded in 2014 to provide specialized pediatric services where previously there were none. Joe’s Kids has grown very rapidly and now serves children from Kosciusko and eight surrounding counties. Despite billing Medicaid and commercial insurances, reimbursements are poor and Joe’s Kids operates at a deficit. Community support is critical to allow Joe’s Kids to provide ongoing care to these special kids.
“We are grateful for the continued partnership with AWS Foundation. Their support makes it possible for us to reach more children and families in need,” says Rebecca Bazzoni, executive director.
Founded in 2007, AWS Foundation supports a wide range of organizations in northeast Indiana working to develop a community in which people with enduring intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities are engaged fully and meaningfully in all aspects of community life.
