Lakeview Students Practice Non-Verbal Communication Skills
WARSAW — Students in Lakeview Middle School’s family and consumer science successful living class recently participated in an activity revealing the power of communication.
The class was asked to stack cups using only string and a rubber band. Students were not permitted to touch the cups with their hands or, even more challenging, talk to each other during the activity.
After attempting the activity without the ability to speak to each other, each group was permitted to try again with open communication. Many students realized how much easier it was to complete this task without talking and how powerful nonverbal communication is.
