Kathy worked as a factory worker for many years before moving to Indiana. There she worked in the boat factory before becoming a cook at a small hometown restaurant. She had then retired and stayed home to care for her husband. After his passing, Kathy moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, where she spent her summer out back fishing and getting a good tan.
She was an amazing mother and an even more amazing grandmother. She loved each and every one of her grandsons more than anyone will ever know. She always wanted a granddaughter, but it just did not happen until this past summer, where she gained three granddaughter-in-laws. She had the best green thumb that a person could have. She could bring any plant to life. She loved to fish, cook, bake, and loved the Holidays and having her family over even if it was in their small one bedroom apartment. She is and will always be known as an awesome mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Friends and family may call upon Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22.
A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center. The family will host a public memorial service in Kathy’s honor at a later date in her hometown town of Wyoming, Illinois.
