Buddy Lee E. Brickey
Buddy Lee E. Brickey, 79, Cromwell, went home to be with the Lord at 2:55 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Nursing Facility. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Buddy was born on Sept. 27, 1938 in Dorchester, Va. to William and Lilli Mae (Crider) Brickey. He married Glenda Ruth Gibson in Wise, Va. on April 5, 1958; she survives.
Buddy was a dedicated and faithful member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Ligonier where he served as a deacon and a trustee. From the years 1958 – 1967, he worked for the Wise Coal & Coke Company, from there, he worked at the Irvine Paper Mills until 1985. Following that he worked for Walker Manufacturing from 1985 – 1990, then a few years were spent between Starcraft and Artesian. After he retired in 1992 he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Most of all, he loved his family and the life he was blessed with. He will be deeply missed and always remembered as a Godly and faithful man who loved truth.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Glenda Ruth Brickey, of Cromwell; children, Rev. Joseph L. (Tina) Brickey of Wawaka, Roy (Rachel) Brickey, of Cromwell, Trisha (Webb) Ridings and her husband, Will, of Aberdeen, Ms.; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nephews, and nieces, along with a few favorites.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lilli Brickey; two sisters, Helen (Brickey) Steele and Jeanette Brickey; two brothers, William Brickey Jr. and Rev. Jim Ray Brickey; a grandson, James Tyler Brickey; and a great-granddaughter, Mallory Nichelle Watson.
A funeral service will be held in Buddy’s honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Apostolic Faith Church – 317 Pigeon Street Ligonier, IN, 46767 in Ligonier, with Bishop Benny Archer and Pastor Brad Geans officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery following the service.
Family and friends will be recieved from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767. An additional time of visitation will take place from 10:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Church.
