Theodore Roosevelt Brooks Jr.
Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt Brooks, Jr., 82, Milford passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born Jan. 26, 1935 to Theodore Roosevelt and Inez W Brooks in Moulton, Ala. On April 2, 1957, Ted married Ellen Phelps.
Ted honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Milford, and he was a member of the Milford Masonic Lodge 418 for 52 years. Ted loved blue grass music. As a young man, he played guitar with local groups and liked to attend nearby blue grass festivals. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Ted will be missed by four siblings, Jim (Margaret) Brooks, Bob (Ann) Brooks, Kent Brooks, all of Milford, and Susan (Scott) Crist of Bradford, OH; seven nieces and nephews; eighteen great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of nearly 50 years, Ellen Brooks; an infant sister, Kathleen Brooks; and a niece, Amy Crist.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford. Burial with military honors will follow at Milford Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at the funeral home.
