CCS Announces Adopt-A-Family Sign-Up Date
WARSAW — Each year Combined Community Services offers Adopt-A-Family, where CCS and the Kosciusko County community team up to help support local families struggling financially by providing Christmas gifts for their children.
In a previous year, one family commented, “My kids had Christmas because of the Adopt-A-Family program. Even though I was struggling, my kids never knew.”
This year, the sign up will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m Nov. 1, and another round from 5-7 p.m. for those who work during the earlier time slot.
In order to sign up for Adopt-A-Family Nov. 1, families need to: live in Kosciusko County, have children that are a senior in high school or younger, and be experiencing a hardship.
Please bring one of the following to sign up: birth certificates, school registrations, or other legal document showing custody/guardianship for all children in the household.
In order to best serve the community, CCS is asking that only first time families come on Nov. 1. Families who have received Adopt-A-Family in the past can check with CCS after the initial sign up to see if spots are still available.
New this year, “Adopter Days.” Those interested in celebrating the love of Christ, the true reason for the season, by adopting a family this year, can come to CCS noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 or 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14. At those events, individuals, families, and groups will be able to view the available applications and select a family to adopt. If you are unable to attend an adopter event, but would still like to support a family this Christmas, please contact Christie at (574) 269-6019 ext. 222 or [email protected].
