Ruby Frances Lane, 94, La Fontaine, died at 3:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center, La Fontaine.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1922 in Wabash County to James F. and Flosstilla Sevilla (Bowers) Stair.
She graduated from La Fontaine High School in 1940 and was the last living member of her graduating class. Frances married Claude Lane, Jr. on Jan. 27, 1952 and worked for MSD of Wabash and Wagner Grocery Store. Frances was a member of the United Methodist Church in La Fontaine and was active in the Wesleyan Circle and Riverside Home Economics Club.
She is survived by sons, Rex Alan (Cathy) Lane and Ray Alvin (Carolyn) Lane both of Marion; five grandchildren, Stacey (Gannon) Grosh, Muncie, Ryan (Michelle) Lane, Upland, Erin (Jeff) Shafer, South Burlington, Vt., Dawn (Phil) Mosier, Jonesboro and John Foland, Louisville, Ky.; and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at McDonald Funeral Home, La Fontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main Street, La Fontaine, IN 46940 with Pastor Crystal Jacobson officiating. Calling hours will be two hours before service from 9 a.m. until the start of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at La Fontaine IOOF Cemetery.
