Wawasee Boys Basketball: Jr. Warrior Basketball Evaluations Next Week
SYRACUSE — The Jr. Warrior Basketball League will hold evaluations next week at Wawasee Middle School. The league is open to all boys in grades K through 5. Grades K-1 will have 30-minute practices followed by 30-minute games on Saturday mornings for six weeks. Grades 2-3 and 4-5 will each form leagues and will practice on either Tuesday or Thursday and play games on Saturdays for six weeks. All games and practices will be held at Syracuse Elementary.
Skills evaluations will take place Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Wawasee Middle School. Grades K-1 will have their eval from 5 to 6 p.m., grades 2-3 will be evaluated from 6 to 7 p.m., and grades 4-5 will have their eval from 7 to 8 p.m. League practices will begin the week after fall break and end before Christmas break. Instruction will be designed by Wawasee High School Head Boys Basketball Coach Jon Everingham.
Cost to join the league is $50 and $35 for each additional player from the same household family. That pricetag includes a Jr. Warrior t-shirt and all league fees. Financial assistance is available upon request. Players will be recognized at a WHS home basketball game on Jr. Warrior Night, and players can be invited to play int eh Club1 league/ season after the Jr. Warrior season concludes.
