Two Arrested For Methamphetamine
WARSAW — Two people are facing possession of methamphetamine charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of multiple syringes.
Alisha Hoover, 29, 322 S. Washington St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of a syringe and possession of meth, both level 6 felonies.
Sterling Templeton, 37, 333 N. Park Avenue, Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony. Templeton currently has six criminal cases open in Kosciusko County.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 26 an officer with the Warsaw Police Department observed a black Pontiac with a license plate registered to a gold Dodge Durango. The officer followed the vehicle to a Marathon gas station where he then approached the vehicle. The officer identified the driver as Hoover, and the passenger as Templeton.
Hoover was arrested on an active warrant. The officer searched her purse and found an orange cap belonging to a hypodermic syringe and anti-septic wipes, identifying the items as common in the use of injecting drugs. Further, the officer located in Hoover’s vehicle an orange plastic band that, based on the officer’s training, is used to cut off blood flow when injecting drugs.
The officer then removed Templeton from the vehicle. At this time the officer observed a hypodermic needle in the driver’s seat. Upon searching further, the officer discovered a loaded syringe containing a reddish-brown liquid, a black digital scale and a Snapple bottle cap containing a clear crystal like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
