Mobile Home Park Petitions Approved By BZA
WARSAW — Two petitions by the Etna Green Mobile Home Park were among those considered by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Warsaw.
An exception was approved by the BZA to allow mobile homes to be replaced in the park on Main Street in Etna Green. A variance was also approved to make changes or alterations in a non-conforming mobile home park. Matt Sandy, assistant planning director for the county, noted the standard conditions were applied to the approval including at least 20 feet of setback between structures, newer homes replacing older ones and more.
Other agenda items included:
• Jerry Burns was granted a variance for a residence to remain 33 feet from the right of way on Saddlebrook Lane, north of CR 350N in Plain Township. As a condition to the approval, land must be obtained to increase the setback from a side property line.
• Jack Stillson was granted a variance to permit the construction of a residence addition on EMS D16A1 Lane near Dewart Lake in Turkey Creek Township.
• Brian and Tamara Maroney were granted a variance to construct a new residence on Willis Park, south of Webster Lake in Tippecanoe Township.
• Kenneth and Lawana Frey were granted a variance to permit construction of a porch, to re-roof adding cubic content and construct a shed on CR 850S at the intersection with Roy Drive in Seward Township. The shed must be 5 feet from the side property line, not 1 foot as originally requested.
• Sheryl Rodriguez was granted a variance to permit construction of an attached garage on EMS B40 Lane at Sawmill Lake in Tippecanoe Township. She presented a revised plan to the BZA and the garage was approved 14 feet from the road right of way and 9 feet from a side property line. And a surveyor must stake out the garage because there was some question as to the location of the property lines.
• Growing Kids Management was granted an exception to allow a childcare center in a commercial district on CR 200N, east of Biomet Drive in Plain Township. As a condition for the approval, all local, state and federal permits must be obtained. They will need to find a suitable location for the entrance by working with the county highway department.
• Steven Schenkel was granted a variance to allow a residence and accessory building to remain as constructed from the previous owners on Trusdell Avenue, east of Grandview Drive in Turkey Creek Township.
