Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Dealing Meth
SYRACUSE — A vehicle observed by police with an inoperable headlight and a check on the driver’s record resulted in a Syracuse man being arrested on five drug charges and confiscation of 10.5 grams of methamphetamine, plus a large amount of currency.
Syracuse Police stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer for a inoperable headlight at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3. The driver, Kevin John Allin Simons, 27, 12354 N. Kern Road, Syracuse, was then found to be driving the vehicle as a suspended driver. While taking Simons into custody, Syracuse Police Officers discovered approximately 10.5 grams of methamphetamine along with marijuana, paraphernalia and a large amount of currency in his possession.
Simons was taken into custody and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where he was booked for dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended – prior, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,250 surety and cash.
The case is still under investigation.
