Rex A. Hobbs
Rex A. Hobbs, 80, Clayton, N.C. passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, in Brian Center, Clayton N.C.
He was born July 14, 1937 in Marion to Oral and Cesta (Dailey) Hobbs. On Oct. 17, 1981 he married Ardythe G. Ritenour. She passed away on Nov. 20, 2008. Rex was a machinist at Ford Meter Box, Wabash for 31 years. He was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, Liberty Mills.
Rex is survived by four sons, Greg (Stacy) Hobbs, Clayton, N.C, Brian Hobbs, Wauchula, Fla., Randy (Anita) Ritenour, Elkhart, and Ryan (Stacy) Ritenour, Harrodsburg, Ky.; one daughter, Ronna Stevens, Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Merlinda Hobbs, Sebring, Fla.; brother, Merrill (JoAnn) Hobbs, Wabash; sister, Janice (Les) Spencer, Jacksonville, Fla. grandchildren, Tisha (Christian) Bowman-Ashby, Fort Wayne, Tandy Bowman, Fort Wayne, Joel (Karyl) Hobbs, Winter Haven, Fla., Kevin Ritenour, Elkhart, Mallory (Bentley) Jones, Clayton, N.C., Alaina (Ivo) Hristov, Brandon, Fla., Marshall (Katie) Hobbs, Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Sara Ritenour, Elkhart, Anthony Ritenour, Harrodsburg, Ky., Kendra Hobbs, Sebring, Fla., Brittany Ritenour, Fort Wayne, Cameron Ritenour, Warsaw, Dylan Ritenour, Elkhart, Jillian Hobbs, Niceville, Fla., Jefferson Hobbs, Niceville, Fla.; great grandchildren, Aiden, Gabriel, Tanis and Xander Ashby and Mabylene and Remyngton Hobbs.
One brother, Richard Hobbs and three sisters, Margaret Buroker, Mildred Welzier and Wilma Holmes, are deceased.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Oct. 7 at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 71 N. 3rd Street, Liberty Mills. Services will be held at noon Saturday at the church. Pastor Kelly Beutler will officiate. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley.
