Jerry L. Whetstone
Jerry Lee Whetstone, 63, Fishers, died on Sept. 29, 2017, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, at 8:41 a.m.
He was born on May 26, 1954 in Warsaw to Lowell D. Whetstone and LoaJean (Horn) Whetstone.
Jerry served in the United States Navy where he was a welder. He then was employed as a millwright at Bhurt Engineering in Warsaw. Changing his career from there, he worked as a correctional officer at Miami Correctional Facility where he retired.
Some of Jerry’s interests included being a racing fan of Jeff Gordon and watching the Chicago Bears. He loved spending time with his granddaughter that he cherished. Jerry was a “happy man that never met a stranger”.
Surviving Jerry is his wife: Beth Ann Whetstone of Fishers; his daughter: Amber Shae Petters (spouse Scott and their daughter, Cadence Ann Peters) of South Whitley; his brother: Leon Whetstone (spouse Marlene) of Silver Lake; his sister: Darlene K. Reese (spouse Dan) of Oswego; sister-in-law: Pamela Prater (spouse Jeff) of Rochester; brother-in-law: Marvin Harris (spouse Tina) of Huntsville, Ark.
Preceding Jerry in death were his parents.
Viewing and visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 East Rochester Street, Akron. The funeral service will follow visitation with Pastor Derrick Harris of Olive Branch Church officiating.
